My Story
2024 started for me in a different way with a blue light job and a stay in the ICU following Pneumonia and Sepsis. Getting back to 100% hasn't been that much fun. I am incredibly lucky to have not suffered longer lasting complications - the difference between me and Craig Mackinlay MP was about 2 hours. I wanted to set my sights on a challenge that would keep me active (and out of the pub :D). This marathon walk represents a milestone in my journey but also raises funds for a truly wonderful cause. Sepsis is so unpredictable and can hit anyone but so can cancer and I feel that through fundraising and research cancer could be beaten in my lifetime. We are setting out to walk this at a relatively blistering pace - or so I am told - of under 8 hours. If you can, please give generously to help humanity beat cancer once and for all.
