2019 Simplyhealth Great North Run

When I met my wife I was fortunate enough to also gain a fantastic group of her friends who had all met whilst at Newcastle University. Tragically, in January 2018 we lost a member of our group, when lovely Sophie lost her fight with cancer. Fittingly, our group of friends are now returning to the city so we can run the Great North Run in order to raise funds for Cancer Research in memory of Sophie.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further. Help Cancer Research UK improve results even faster.
