To stop people from losing loved ones through this horrible disease.
In memory of
Mum and Karl
Willow and I will be taking part in this in memory of my beautiful Mum who died of breast cancer seven years ago. My father in law Karl was also cruelly taken by cancer just a few weeks ago. For me the worst thing about cancer is how it can kill and take over parts of your body with no warning until it's too late. My Mum first got breast cancer 12 years before she died and after surgery, chemo and radiotherapy got the all clear five years later. It lurked in her body for another 5 years creeping back symptomless. By the time she noticed something wasn't right, it was too late and she was terminal. She had another couple of years after that thanks to further treatments but lost her fight in December 2009 sadly two and a half years before my beautiful Willow was born. Willow has been denied ever knowing her Nanny because of cancer and two months ago it took her Grandad away... My father in law was only diagnosed two weeks before he died, his had silently spread so quickly nothing could be done to save him. I also lost a good friend who was 28 years old when he died of cancer in 1999. Andy was a lovely vibrant guy full of energy, fun and laughter, before cancer gripped him then ended his life. My auntie who is now in her late seventies has been married three times, this evil disease has widowed her three times... The work that charities like cancer research do may save your life or stop you from losing a loved one in the future so please sponsor me and/or the Aspen team so that we can raise as much money as possible and help stop this hateful disease. Thank you for reading my story.
