My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 300 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. On average, I will need to complete 10 miles a day - which per day, isn't an impossible amount but let's not underestimate how unfit I am and how much of a fair-weather bike rider I am, too. Therefore, I expect this to be a tough challenge but one I'm excited for and one where I'll be looking to complete large chunks of the target over the weekends and topping up with lunchtime and evening rides in the week. My weapon of choice is an entry-level mountain bike from Halfords with a seat as a hard as concrete and extremely stiff suspension. Not the best bike in the world but not the worst either. My Fitbit is connected to Strava which will automatically update on this page and show mile-by-mile progress. If anyone is around Newark in September and wants to join for a cycle then feel free too. Otherwise - send me some podcast recommendations!
