The Greens Walk All Over Cancer in March for Cancer Research

2020 was a year that none of us will forget, but for our family its a year which changed our outlook on life forever. On Will and Laura’s second wedding anniversary and three days after Will’s 29th Birthday Will was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma, in a whirlwind our life was turned upside down. Finding a lump believing to be a hernia, to a month later being told Will had cancer changed everything. 'Lockdown' was now even more serious than before. Will was not allowed out of the house for a walk, not allowed to open windows, not allowed to walk our dog. Our two girls Izzy and Amber had to live with my sister in law and family for four months as the risk of illness was too high. When Laura went out she had to wash her clothes as soon as she came in and immediately shower and the same had to happen with our little girl who would turn only 1 year old a couple of months into Chemo, not the first year we had dreamed of for us. It was hard not to have the children with us but what we have learned is to appreciate what you have and live your days that you have. Being back together has given us such happiness,. What We found on our journey was that having a goal made us challenge Cancer and what we achieved with the Help of Round Table across the UK and Internationally I was able to raise £27,500. Two miles of walking with friends and colleagues inspired us to keep strong and keep a positive mental attitude which We believe gave Will the strength to fight. After completing chemotherapy treatment and with our family back together we want to tackle Cancer together so we have decided to Walk all Over Cancer in March WalkWithWill became a coming together of people from all over the world with the one aim of fighting and helping others in the same position and We want to build on that so that people all across the world can find a strength to help fight. To realise you are not alone and that together we can make changes. It might not be a change for us personally but it might be that we have given others the knowledge to think about a lump they may have found, go to the doctors and get it checked out. The earlier the better and the sooner that a problem is tackled the better chance we all have to gain extra time with our family and friends. Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.
