In memory of

Luke Hart

My Story

In memory of Luke Hart 7th Oct 1972 - 22nd Jan 2023 Throughout November Me and Hylton will be walking 100miles to raise money for Cancer Research UK in memory of Uncle Luke. Luke was such a huge part of my whole life. From early memories holidaying in Norfolk, Spain and the lakes, dressing up in ridiculous fancy dress and teaching us which films and songs are ‘classics’, to our first trip into ‘real’ London, teaching Hylton that Guinness has no place for blackcurrant and trying our first espresso martinis. (Since renamed the Lukey-Martini) Even after diagnosis in 2018 of a very rare type of cancer of the bile duct, Luke continued to not only live his own life to the full, but to teach us to do the same. Life will never be the same without Luke and it’s hard to put into words how much we miss him, but hopefully this walk will send him a message to remind him that his legacy lives on, and in his words, we promise to make this challenge our ‘Best Challenge Ever!’
