My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why we're taking part in a Race for Life Schools to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor us now. At The Folkestone School for Girls we intend to take the fight to cancer. Two years ago we held our first Race for Life and our students ran, jogged, danced and walked around our 5km circuit, now we want to do it again! When we held our event last time a member of our staff was very seriously ill with pancreatic cancer and has since sadly passed away. As well as this a number of our current students have battled with cancer, not to mention all of those affected because they know people who have been affected. So you see, its now personal and we intend to raise as much as possible so we can help others in our community battle back. Please support our fundraising and help our students raise an amazing amount of money. Please donate generously to our just giving page and encourage the students to fund raise in lots of creative ways.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
