My Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit this Worshipful Company of Farriers (WCF) fundraising page. Sandy Beveridge FWCF has created a Globe of horseshoes and he has very generously donated the Globe to the Worshipful Company of Farriers (www.wcf.org.uk) so that, together, we can raise funds for Sandy's chosen charity - Cancer Research UK. The Farriers Globe represents a Who's Who of Farriers both past and present. In total 194 horseshoes have been used. Each shoe is stamped either with the name or the initials of the Farrier who crafted the shoe. Some of the shoes presented on the Globe have been made by past Individual World Champions, World Champion Team members, National Champions, International Team or International Individual Champions who are some of the highest qualified Farriers in the world. In due course the WCF aim to find a permanent home for the Globe in a public location where it can be viewed by all as a testimony to the craft and skill of the Farriery profession. Several Farriers who contributed horseshoes have now sadly died; a number having suffered from cancer. All of us will have been touched by cancer either within our own family, our friends or even ourselves. We are asking all Farriers, their friends and family to dig deep and donate generously to this very worthy cause. PLEASE donate to our page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny you donate will go directly to Cancer Research UK.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
