My Story

I think we all know someone who has suffered from cancer, whether it be a friend or family member. I currently have prostate and thyroid cancers and have had these diseases for 10 and 13 years respectivly. During this time I have seen advances in treatment for cancer which is less invasive and leaves you with reduced side effects. Success rates are improving due to better treatment and earlier detection. I want to raise £2000 for Cancer Research UK to help continue the progress made in beating this disease. To do this I intend to do the Longest Day Up Challenge 2026. This is a challenge in aid of Cancer Research UK, for motorcyclists on cheap and inappropriate motorcycles to ride from Land’s End to John O'Groats in 24hrs on the longest day of the year. Bikes must have been bought for no more than £600. I have started with a bare frame costing £80 and I intend to complete it with parts that I have left over from previous motorcycle projects. What can possibly go wrong?

CAUSE

Prostate cancer

Each year, around 55,100 people are diagnosed with prostate cancer in the UK. That’s around 150 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat prostate cancer.
