In memory of

Stuart

My Story

In 2022, in memory of our wonderful brother and uncle, Stuart Collier, Team Voller set out to complete their first marathons. Fay ran (and walked) the London Marathon and we all walked a marathon over two days locally. This year we are upping our game! Alex and Seb (with Fay and Gary) are going to walk a marathon in just one day on 15th June. Please come along and support them on the day and enjoy a drink and a cake. Fay ran her first Ultramarathon (https://penllynultra.co.uk/she-ultra/) on 20th April along with 549 other women. Fay ran/jogged and walked, 30 miles (50km) of road and trail in North Wales in 7.5 hours. Stuart was an avid runner, walker and all round sportsman. He is missed everyday by those who loved him. If you are reading this you probably knew him. If you didn't have the pleasure he was the most caring, thoughtful, fun-loving, energetic soul. He was a wonderful father in just the three short years he got to spend with Hugh. We are all better people for having had Stu in our lives. When I was applying to run a marathon Stuart asked for money to be donated to CRUK from fundraising in his name to fund research so more people can survive cancer. Sponsorship on this page has been ring-fenced for oesophageal cancer.

CAUSE

Oesophageal cancer

Each year, around 9,400 people are diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in the UK. That’s 26 people every single day. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat oesophageal cancer.
