My Story
Hi everyone, Thank you for visiting our 'AZ Team Walk the Talk' page. On Saturday 25th January we will be taking part in the the 'Winter Walk Half Marathon' across west London, raising valuable funds for Cancer research . We are 9 special work friends: Martha, Andrey, Steph, Alexia, Linda, Mandy, Xavier, Katie, me and my two sisters Claire & Alison, raising much needed funds for Cancer Research UK. This cause is deeply personal to many of us, in 2017 I personally faced breast cancer, an experience that changed my perspective on life and reinforced the importance of research in saving lives. Cancer touches so many people, our friends, families, and loved ones. As a group, we’ve all been impacted by it in some way, and that’s why we’re coming together to make a difference. This walk also marks a new chapter for me as I prepare for early retirement. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate the incredible journey I’ve had with my work friends while giving back to a cause that means so much to me. Every step we take is for those we’ve lost, those currently living with cancer in the hope that one day cancer will no longer be a part of anyone’s story. Please support us in raising as much as we can for Cancer Research UK. Your donations will go toward the critical life changing work they carry out in early detection, better treatments, and, most importantly, saving lives. Thank you for your generosity and support. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
