A lot of you will know that I suffered from cancer last year. I was one of the lucky ones and survived. But there were periods where I went through uncertainty - was I ever going to see my children grow up? Would I be able to live the life I was so happily living till then? When I lost my voice as a complication of cancer surgery, I felt hopeless as there was no guarantee that I would get my voice back. I couldn't speak to my kids, I felt like I had lost my personality and identity. But within all of this struggle, there was so much love and care from family and friends. This helped me stay positive and focussed on getting better and with all the well researched treatments I received, life went back to normal, and now I am just the same, except stronger! I want to do something to show my gratitude and help change someone's story to a positive one - I want to raise money for Cancer research. Cancer research supports 250 clinical trials across the UK, and their groundbreaking research have saved the lives of many thousands of people in the UK and all over the world. Cancer research does not get any government funds - it relies on charity, and every new piece of research has a massive impact on people's lives. Most of you know that I don't set foot in the gym, so a marathon walk is a very tough job for me. But I will do this walk, so that I can raise some money for cancer research. Please please please donate anything you can. And do leave some words of encouragement - which I will need as I am trying to get to the finish line ??
