My Story
Swindon Fire Cadets 2018/19 are participating in a year long course in order to gain three qualifications - a BTEC level 2, a National Fire Fighter Cadet level 1 Award and an AQA - Fire Service Training. As part of the course they will be completing 3 Social Action Projects chosen by them because of a personal story, a desire to make a difference or a special interest. They have worked together to choose Cancer Research UK to benefit from their first Social Action Project of this year. They will be taking part in the 5K Parkrun at Swindon's Lydiard Park in Fire Cadet Fire Kit on Saturday 1st December. The Cadets will run/walk in two waves - the first wave will be in full kit and trainers rather than fire boots so that they can run the course. The second wave will walk in full kit (including boots) with a BA set (simulated) on their backs and they will walk the course. Please show your support for our Cadets as they strive to raise money for such a worthy cause. Thank you for visiting our Fundraising Page. The money we raise will help fund life-saving research and to bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
