2018 was the year that would change Liza's life forever... 2020, Raising money for Cancer Research - 373 miles 65000feet elevation.

My Story

Liza was diagnosed with breast cancer, it had all happened so quickly, before she had chance to digest the situation Liza had started 7months of Chemotherapy, a mastectomy, Radiotherapy & a 10yr course of Tamoxifen, it was during this invasive journey Liza began to realise & appreciate more the importance of the great outdoors and its healing properties. Throughout all of her treatment Liza has found mindfulness in her Trail Running, woodland walks, StandUpPaddle boarding & her new love... Growing her Edible Organic Garden. "She has and continues to be a total inspiration to others... Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page. Cancer is happening right now and can effect anyone at any time, which is why I’m fundraising right now for Cancer Research UK. Any donations would be gratefully received, if you would like to donate but would prefer to donate to The Nick Jonas Ward please use the link below. The Challenge I have set myself a challenge way beyond anything I have done before as those who know me are aware of the Trail running events and Ultra's I enter. On July 18th 2020 I will start running along the South West Coast Path from Lamorna Cove Beach West Cornwall 360 miles (579 km) to Studland Chain Ferry Sandbanks. I endeavour to complete the challenge in 10 Days, this will be challenged by the weather and the elevation gain of around 68000 feet (Everest is 29000ft). You can keep up to date on our website: www.adventure360.co.uk Nick Jonas Ward I am also raising money for The Nick Jonas Ward, our amazing local Chemo Ward that Liza was on. The team on on the Nick Jonas Ward never stop but they always make time to make you feel comfortable, there is nothing more warming than the constant smiles and chat to remove your anxieties. I have chosen to raise money for both the The Nick Jonas Ward and Cancer Research (Breast), my reasons for this is; although the Nick Jonas Ward were & are beyond amazing and they are always in need of new equipment, I fully appreciate they are our local Chemo Ward and if you were to donate you may wish to alternatively donate to Cancer Research? To add to Liza's life challenges, in June of 2019 Liza was unfortunately bitten by a Tick and contracted Lyme disease, we are please to say she made a full recovery. I would like to raise awareness to Ticks in the UK... Please click on the link below for info on Ticks and Lyme Disease. https://www.lymediseaseaction.org.uk

CAUSE

Breast cancer

With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
