Dennis & Lindsay Harvey and Jennifer Oag

My Story

In 2006 my dad Dennis, was diagnosed with cancer. He displayed no symptoms until it had already spread to his liver... Despite chemotherapy, 9 months after his initial diagnosis he was gone. Aged 59 - Bowel Cancer In 2014 my mum Lindsay, was diagnosed with cancer. She displayed no symptoms until it had already spread to her liver... Despite chemotherapy and radiotherapy, 9 months after her initial diagnosis she was gone. Aged 66 - High Grade Neuroendocrine Cancer In May 2014 my mum-in-law, Jen, was diagnosed with cancer. Her only symptom was a toothache. Despite surgery and radiotheraphy 9 months after her initial diagnosis she was gone. Aged 51 - Oral Cancer The story just keeps repeating... But with your support we CAN change the ending .. In 2017 I added 3 more names to the RaceforLife sign on my back. My lovely friend Ruth - Hodgkins Lymphoma My mother-in-law Julie - Breast Cancer My uncle Harris - Bowel Cancer This year I carry those three names on my back as survivors. Research has beaten polio. Research is beating HIV. One day research will beat cancer. I cant change the past, but by raising money for Cancer Research UK I can help change the future.
