My Story
Finlay and I are participating in Race for Life (Hillingdon, 5k) again this year in the hope that, in some small way, we can help in the fight against cancer. We are running in honour of a very special woman; our wonderful Mum/Nan who was diagnosed with Myeloma - a type of bone marrow cancer for which there is currently no cure - in January 2016. She has bravely endured chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant; treatment that has given her life again. Cancer touches all our lives with 1 in 2 people diagnosed in their lifetime. We’re also running for all our dear, dear friends whose lives have been affected by cancer over the last few years. As we take part we’ll also be thinking about our grandparents/great-grandparents, Arthur and Nellie Weller, who fought and lost their battles with Mesothelioma and oesophageal cancer, and Eunice Davis who passed away last year from lung cancer. Since their passing there have been huge advances in cancer diagnoses and treatment. Through research we can make a difference. Every single pound donated supports Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking work. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
