My Story
Hilary's Story "This year I reached 50 - a big milestone - and I decided to try and complete up to 50 challenges through the year to mark the occasion. Running the Great South Run and raising £1000 for charity are 2 of those challenges. I have chosen to fundraise for Cancer Research as I have lost several close relatives and friends to this disease: my dad Brian, Grandma Nelly, Grandpa Jack, Auntie Hazel, Uncle John, Uncle Trevor and many others" Hilary has been my friend since we started secondary school together, almost 39 years ago. Like Hilary, I've just turned 50. Knowing Hilary for so many years, means that I have many memories of her Dad Brian and I want to support Hilary, by running alongside her for the Portsmouth 5K race for life. I've set my fund raising target at just £50, £1 for each of my years! I will be very pleased if my target proves to be too small and I sail passed it. I am running to support Hilary, raising money will mean that I am not just supporting a dear friend, but also helping a very important charity. Every pound counts! 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
