My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why on the 4 June 2019 I am taking part in the Race for Life 5k at Trentham, along with some of my very close friends from work, to raise money for the amazing charity Cancer Research UK and all of the vital research that they do. Everyone in our office knows of someone who has been affected by Cancer in one form or another, so for all of us its a cause that's very close to our hearts. On a personal side, I have lost 2 very special people in my life to this dreadful disease. My Dad had Lung Cancer and passed away in October 2017, and my brother Kevin suffered with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and lost his battle in February of this year. I am also doing this in admiration for my sister Lynn, my Brother-in-law Wayne, Jackie, Janie & many others who have combat Cancer. Also our close friend Derek who is presently undergoing chemotherapy treatment. Taking part in this race is in honour of all of these amazing people, and everyone else who has battled with Cancer, or is currently facing a battle with Cancer. Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with Cancer in their lifetime! Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work.
