Getting a bowel cancer diagnosis at 51 was NOT on my radar!
It’s a life altering moment. Shock initially and then enormous fear for the future (or perhaps lack of it).
But here I am 16 months on, one major operation later, albeit with a few interesting side effects - doing well so far and looking forward again. Walking has been a big part of my recovery so it’s only fitting that any fundraising should be done at a walk. Whether I’ll feel so chirpy after 13 miles who knows?
Cancer research has come a long way in the last 20years and I certainly feel very humbled that I benefited from the advancements in diagnosis and treatment that charities like Cancer Research have helped to support.
