Fundraising for Cancer Research and aiming to be a long term cancer survivor!
In memory of
My brother Alan, died 1994 aged only 27
Getting a bowel cancer diagnosis at 51 was NOT on my radar! It’s a life altering moment. Shock initially and then enormous fear for the future (or perhaps lack of it). But here I am 16 months on, one major operation later, albeit with a few interesting side effects - doing well so far and looking forward again. Walking has been a big part of my recovery so it’s only fitting that any fundraising should be done at a walk. Whether I’ll feel so chirpy after 13 miles who knows? Cancer research has come a long way in the last 20years and I certainly feel very humbled that I benefited from the advancements in diagnosis and treatment that charities like Cancer Research have helped to support. So many families get hit by cancer in some way or another – it’s frighteningly common. If you can spare a few pounds to help keep Cancer Research working on even more developments that would be much appreciated. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. CAUSE
Bowel cancer
Over the past 40 years there's been dramatic progress in tackling bowel cancer and half of people diagnosed will now survive for at least 10 years. But with bowel cancer still claiming around 43 lives each day, more research still needs to be done. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.
