My Story
Business Beats Cancer Manchester is bringing together businesses from across the region to support lifesaving research being carried out by Cancer Research UK right here in our fantastic city. In Manchester right now, the single biggest killing disease is lung cancer, so it is now is the time to make a difference. Equally, it is more important than ever to diagnose cancer early because it can increase your chances of survival by up to 80%. Business Beats Cancer Manchester have chosen to support two Manchester based research projects with all of the funds that are raised this year. Both of the chosen projects have the prospect of revolutionising treatments and diagnosis not just in this city, but across the country. The first project supported will be Professor Caroline Dive's work around lung cancer, working within areas of deprivation across Manchester where the need is most, to spot earlier signs of lung cancer. This project aims to focus on liquid biopsies to diagnose lung cancer early, giving more people many more years with their families. The second project is run by Professor Rob Bristow out of the Manchester research centre, and he is looking at new, earlier diagnosis methods that can be used across all cancers, catching it earlier and saving more lives. With your help, we can fund research that will spot cancer earlier, allowing us to come up with more diagnosis methods and bring closer the day when people no longer fear cancer. Join Business Beats Cancer Manchester today in our fundraising today and be part of the team that can say 'We are beating cancer'.
