My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. There’s no time to lose! Donate to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Too many good people I have known have died of cancer and sadly as each year goes by, someone else is added to that list. 8 years ago, my dad and most recently the mum of a close friend who lost her tough battle last autumn. I ran Reading Half Marathon when I was 17 and haven't run that distance since then and I am now considerably older than 17! However, my career change has given me much more time to run so last summer I decided I needed a real challenge to run and fundraise for Cancer Research UK. So on 17th March I will be running the Reading Half Marathon again. I think it will take me just over 2 hours. Winter training is tricky here as it keeps snowing, but I am getting out as much as possible.

Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
