My Story
Cancer has a horrible impact on just about everyones lives. Whether it's because we suffer directly, or someone close to us receives a diagnosis. In just a few short years, the statistical chance of a cancer diagnosis in your lifetime have gone from 1 in 4, to 1 in 3 and now it's closer to 1 in 2. In part, that's because we have become so much better at detecting cancer, but it's also linked to our lifestyles and the changing environment we live in. We all have a story about how this awful diagnosis has impacted us personally, and each one of those stories is a reason to do something. No matter how big or small that 'something' might be. Thankfully, as devastating as the stat's are, the rate of survival has also greatly improved - and that's thanks to the incredible work of organisations across the globe including Cancer Research UK. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I’m raising money right now for Cancer Research UK. Taking on the Great North Run is probably utter madness. I'm not particularly fit anymore, and running is not a sport I have partaken in all that much for several years. But, it is something I have enjoyed throughout my life, and so the challenge is set. Please help by donating to my page today and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
