My Story
My family are supporting each other in raising money for cancer research. My wife, Helen went through treatment for breast cancer in 2013 and thankfully has been cancer free since then. We know how difficult and devastating cancer can be and we've got friends who have been affected by this terrible disease. One of Helen's special friends, Carol, who she met when they went through cancer treatment together, sadly passed away from liver cancer in January, far too early and far too young. Another of Helen's friends, Lorna, who she met after her treatment, also sadly passed away in April after years of treatment for cancer. Our friend, Jim, also died in April after a period of treatment for a blood cancer. We want to try and stop this happening to other people. Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.

All Cancer Types
Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
