My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. I will be cycling 300 miles in a month for Cancer Research UK. I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page. I have my own reason for supporting Cancer Research as I was diagnosed with breast cancer in December 2019. At the time I was told that my cancer was not curable but could be controlled by drugs and relieved by radiotherapy. I had a setback last year when I was told to stop taking the main drug because it was harming my liver. However, the year ended much more positively after I had a mastectomy, something that I had originally been told wasn't worth doing. I'll admit that my motive isn't wholly selfless as my efforts could be retitled the Stop Stephen Degenerating Into a Blob Campaign. I'll be trying to vary my routes and expect to divide my rides between my slow but comfy folding bike, my hybrid ebike (not cheating, you still have to pedal) and my late 90s hybrid. Thanks for reading and for your support over the next month.
