Shine Night Walk - Full Marathon
Sat 23 Sep 2017
On September 23rd, in the middle of the night, I - along with a bunch of colleagues - will be participating in the Shine London Marathon Walk. We're doing this to show our support to Cancer Research UK for the fantastic work that they do. We've actually been spurred into action through one of the success stories which, thanks to the work of the charities, are fortunately becoming more and more common. A colleague of ours, Rosie, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year but thankfully responded really well to the treatment and is now fully on the path to recovery. Each year Cancer Research UK’s scientists get closer to beating cancer, and they’ve helped double survival rates in the last 40 years. But we can’t stop there. Only with our continued support can they turn this research into breakthroughs that save millions of lives. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
