My Story
My story starts with the loss of my grandma when I was 6 from bowel cancer. Then my mum got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 6 years ago, it's a miracle she is still with us. At the same time my great aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was not so lucky. Now it breaks my heart to say, but my family has been dealt another blow, my step-sister has been diagnosed with breast cancer. I'm not telling you this for sympathy, but to show cancer is non discriminate and can strike anyone, anytime. For those of you who know me will know that completing this course will be a challenge for me both physically and mentally, but I want/need to do this. In an ideal word there would be a cure for cancer, but we don’t live in an ideal world, my motivation is to support the research into finding the cure so no more families have to go through the trauma of cancer. It’s not just the loss of a loved one that can affect us, it’s the mental scarring of the whole process of cancer, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. Please support me in achieving my goal of raising £250 towards cancer research UK. I am taking part in this 5K with my bestest pal and sister. Thank you
