My Story
Hi all and welcome to our fundraising page! As many of you know, Stephie has been on an interesting journey this year having had a hip operation to fix a labral tear, reshaping of the femoral head and diagnosis of arthritis in January. She also has to have the same operation on her other hip next year... Through sheer determination, discomfort and pain, we embarked on the couch to 5k journey in order to help Stephie rehabilitate and strengthen her hip. Little to our knowledge was the fact that there was a Cancer Research Race for life on 7th July, at the end of our 9 week journey... Cancer has affected us all, in one way or other, and we wanted to raise money for such an important cause. Shaun and I have both lost people close to us who fought a hard fight against the big C and have friends who are currently in the midst of battle. It has also affected us a little closer to home, with Stephie's mum having a malignant melanoma removed from her leg in 2018 and Stephie having a very close call with cervical cancer in the year of our wedding. Cancer Research is a phenomenal charity and we would love you to stand by us as we embark on our 5k run together. Any donations will be gratefully received to continue the fight in curing cancer!
