Stephanie agreed to cycle 300 miles in September. Yes, she thinks it's hysterical too!
Well, can you believe it. From blowing the dust off my bike which hadn't been ridden in YEARS - probably a decade and only then just to cycle up the road, give in and hide it at the back of the shed again - to 'having a go' in the middle of June and kept going, then agreeing to cycle 300 miles for Cancer Research UK throughout September... in one of the hilliest districts in the UK. What WAS I thinking:-) So I've set a goal, set my alarm and bought new leggings! Now, I need your donations to help people who have had cancer (like me) and people who are dealing with cancer right now and, those who may have to deal with it in the future, let's hope it gets less and less. 2020 has been an year of incredible lows and loss. It has also seen some magnificent highs; surprising generosity, incredible ingenuity, boundless creativity and multiple shows of positivity in the face of fear and adversity. This endeavour, I hope will be one of my highs, one that will do good and that I can share, mile after mile - I might regret saying that after the first 57 miles! After each cycle ride I'll post a screenshot of my activity app - to show the miles clocked up - and a few scenes from the journey - to prove I'm actually out on m'bike...in all weathers...rain or shine! If you do good old Facebook, follow me there: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniepriest.uk/ And my little hashtag...#cyclingscenes Please donate what you can, every single penny helps someone dealing with cancer and, it encourages me to keep getting up at 5.30am, to keep pedalling and keep startling dog walkers and other cyclists with my cheery "GOOD MORNING :-)" Don't be surprised if I turn up on your doorstep (2 metres away of course), begging for a cup of tea! Yours in love and gratitude Stephanie xxx
