My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. Did you know - An average person has a stride length of approximately 2.1 to 2.5 feet. That means that it takes over 2,000 steps to walk one mile and 10,000 steps would be 5 miles. A sedentary person may only average 1,000 to 3,000 steps a day. I will be doing 5 miles (or 8 km) which is 10,000 steps - everyday - about the distance from London to Manchester (Or Paris to Brussels if you want to be all continental) By the end of March will work out just above 150 miles, for Cancer Research UK so they can find new ways to diagnose and treat Breast Cancer disease. With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
