My Story
Im taking part of the pretty muddy race as we have a form of hereditary breast cancer called Paget's disease in our family. I'm running in name of, my great grandma Edith who I unfortuanlty never got to meet as she passed away from secondary breast cancer aged 60 before I was born, she was diagnosed aged 50, my Auntie Jeanette who has battled breast cancer more than once she was diagnosed aged 32 and it came back aged 49, however she is now in remission and still standing strong today, my Grandma Beryl who I will always remember as the one who would look after me every summer holiday from when I can remember she passed away from secondary breast cancer January 9th 2014, she was 70 years old and was diagnosed at 55 she fought cancer for 15 years, and finally my mum has also had cervical cancer aged 33 which she had to have a emergency hysterectomy which she has now fully recovered. They're all my inspiration and I love them all dearly. Seeing family members struggle and knowing there's nothing you can do to help them is horrible by doing this race and raising money is my way of giving back to those who are working everyday to help find a cure for cancer. Thank you to everyone in advance for donating. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK.
