Sophie's Race for Life
Manchester 5k 2024
Sun 7 Jul 2024 - Sun 7 Jul 2024
At the end of last year my mum was unexpectedly diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer. It is a battle she is bravely facing right now, as she is undergoing chemotherapy. Cancer has affected my family in the past, unfortunately taking my grandad’s life in 2018 after he had fought it off once many years prior. This year I am racing for my mum and with my mum, as we have decided to complete this 5K together. We started this journey hand in hand in a doctor’s office in November, and we want to walk across the line exactly the same. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now.
