My Story
For those who know and for those who don’t know recently my wonderful Mum has sadly been diagnosed with stage 3 Adenocarcinoma (a form of Non Small Cell Lung Cancer). Lung cancer is the biggest cancer killer in the UK, yet it is the cancer that receives the least amount of awareness and support (mainly due to stigma). Well fuck that stigma. My mum is the most kindhearted, caring and loving woman you could meet and this news was and is absolutely devastating and has turned my world upside down in a matter of 3 weeks. I’m sure most people who have lost or had someone close to them diagnosed with cancer you are overwhelmed with feeling absolutely useless. This is one little way I’m trying to do something useful. I don’t run, never have and I’m pretty unfit, but for my mum I aim to run the whole 5K. My Mum is my best friend and honestly my heart is completely broken because of this. Although she’s never had much she has spent her whole life giving and supporting those around her. So now it’s my turn to support her and I will continue to all the way through until she kicks cancer forever. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work and anything you could spare, even just one pound, would be very much appreciated. Come on let’s not only support my Mum but all the 360,000 people that will be diagnosed with cancer in the UK this year. #letsbeatcancer #fuckcancer Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure.
