I'm taking part in Race for Life to raise money to beat cancer sooner. Too many people, friends, family & colleagues are affected by this disease.

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 10k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work, so please sponsor me now. My lovely dad, Sean, lost his battle with cancer in 2005, when his youngest grandson was only 11 months old. This has affected all of our lives, and still continues to do so even now. Our colleague Andy is also currently battling cancer, and this is a great way for us to be able to show our support for him. We all feel useless when someone you know has cancer, so even though our small bit of fundraising wont find the cure, it will help fund research towards it.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
