My Story
This year, we had a bit of a scare. My grandad, who’s 80, was diagnosed with skin cancer. It came as a huge shock since we hadn’t had any history of it in the family, and I was really worried about what this could mean for him at his age. After all the tests, we found out it was basal cell carcinoma, which was a huge relief—this type of skin cancer is local and treatable with surgery. Even with that reassurance, I was nervous about him going through surgery. Thankfully, it went smoothly, and he’s recovering well, though he’s left with a small scar as a reminder of this little battle. The best news is that he’s healthy and doing well. He’ll have to do annual check-ups to keep an eye on everything, but we’re all grateful for that little scar—it means he’s still here with us, happy and healthy. Therefore, I would like to raise this funding for Cancer Research.
