My Story
My connection with cancer has been very personal but also inspiring. In 2008 on September 1st we lost the most amazing fighter to cancer... Donna Hughes (Mam). She fought inspirationally with courage and strength. As her best friends, daughters, and sometimes carers, we saw how she dealt with the disease first hand with such bravery. Her continued smile, positivity and love kept us going throughout the toughest days. Unfortunately after a tough and brutal fight Mam lost her battle against cancer on 01/09/08. This year marks ten years of her absence by our sides but not one day out of our hearts. Cancer may of won that battle and so many since but cancer research will win the war against this life destroying diseas with our continued support. On the 24th of June I will be taking part in the (Edinburgh) Holyrood 5k race for life. The target I've set myself to raise is £200. If you would like to sponsor and help me get to my target I would be very grateful as this really means so much to me. Thank you Siwan xxx Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
