We'll stop when cancer does.
It's been seven years since the Sister Act team first donned our trainers and pink t-shirts. There have been laughs galore, tears aplenty and hundreds and hundreds of words written about our journey. As most of you know by now, our story started with my mum. When I was fifteen and Sophie was eleven, our mum was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She handled it with great style and aplomb and now spends her time making daquiris, playing roulette and cruising around the Caribbean. This year, thanks to advances funded by organisations like Cancer Research, she'll be celebrating ten years clear. *pause for tiny party before the sad bit* But. Despite all of the advances made, cancer continues to take people from us. We have double the number of names on our back signs that we did when we started just seven years ago. Cancer is still taking our friends, our fathers, our grandparents. We won't stop until cancer does.
