My Story
I am raising money for this charity for my Nan, Sandra Garcia. Last year, March 2018, My Nan was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer after believing she had a chest infection. She was offered trial chemotherapy treatment which had put her in hospital and the ICU for a month after contracting pneumonia and sepsis - to the surprise of everyone, she got better and could also have radiotherapy on her lungs. In November 2018 she was told she was cancer free, without even a scar on her lungs from the treatment! Unfortunately, in February 2019 we found out that the cancer has now spread to Nan's brain with multiple tumours. She's been able to go through another round of radiotherapy on her brain which we are now waiting on the results for. The last year has been incredibly hard for not only my Nan but my family so we are doing this run as a group to support Nan in her fight against cancer and the charities which have been able to provide us with support too.
