Siobhann's Race for Life

Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. I am taking part in this event in memory of my beautiful mum Who lost her fight to this horrible indiscriminate disease 3years ago. To see someone you love savaged and taken away in this way is heart breaking and life changing. I have lost many others to this disease including my nan who's 10 year anniversary falls on the date of the race so thought it would be a fitting tribute. I have also lost several other members of my family and friends. I have watched friends going through the same ordeals. To be honest I don't think I know anybody who has not been affected in some way or another. I have known people that have taken on the illness and won so I race for them also. My mum took part in this race several times and this year I do it for her - love and miss her every day xxxx the statistics below scare the life out of me 😔😔 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
