My Story
Cancer is happening right now, which is why I'm taking part in a Race for Life 5k to raise money and save lives. 1 in 2 people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Every single pound you donate makes a difference to Cancer Research UK’s groundbreaking work. Having worked at the charity now for 9 years, I have seen the incredible work that goes on behind the scenes and how vital fundraising is to the overall mission. I know to many people 5K isn't a challenge but Race for Life is more than just a run. It's such an important inclusive event for so many reasons. It brings people together to remember those people we have lost, to celebrate progress in research and to have a good time with friends and loved ones. Cancer is complex. There are over 200 types of cancer, most of which have different biology and behaviour. With your support, our dedicated researchers can continue to discover better ways to prevent, detect and treat this disease, and bring about a world where everybody lives longer, better lives, free from the fear of cancer.
