My story: I am taking part in the Cancer Research 100km challenge for my Dad who so bravely battled the disease for 4 years and who unfortunately lost the battle to it in June 2020. The journey my dad went on through multiple surgeries, treatments and many medications, gave us a few more years with him, which is remarkable given how far the Cancer had progressed when he was initially diagnosed in December 2016. So it is clear to see the positive impact Cancer Research is having on developing treatments for Cancer patients, giving them more life and with the hope to one day developing a complete cure. My donation target of £1,000 isn’t much at all, but collectively with the efforts of many more CRUK challenge participants it can go a long way to beating this disease!! I will be running my 100km over the next 30 days!

Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
