My Story

Just before Christmas, a close friend was diagnosed with lung cancer, but thanks to the advances in medical science over the last 26 years, they underwent surgery to remove a third of the affected lung and have now been given the “all clear”. I have also known lots of friends and family who have been affected by cancer. On October 9th, we are getting together as a team to participate in Shine 2026 in Southampton. This is a 10K nighttime walking event to raise money for Cancer Research. Cancer Research work to prevent, detect, and treat cancer – work that may help me, you, or your children and grandchildren, and that’s why I’m taking part in the 10k Shine Night Walk in Southampton to raise money for them. I’ll be joining thousands of people lighting up the city to raise money for life-saving cancer research, and I’d really appreciate your support – any amount you can spare will be very much appreciated and will help Cancer Research continue their work.
