Shine London 2019 - Half Marathon
Sat 21 Sep 2019 - Sat 21 Sep 2019
Dear All, Three years ago I lost an amazing woman in my life to throat cancer. My Aunty Joan was my inspiration, such a kind and gentle lady but also such an amazing character. she was the life and soul of the party and no matter how ill she was she smiled to the end of her battle. so in memory of my Aunty Joan, I will be taking part and attempting to complete the Shine Night Walk Marathon through the streets of London on Saturday 21st September. I know that we have all been affected by cancer whether it is a personal battle or relatives or friends. so I am going to give this my all for everyone I know that have suffered or are suffering. all I would ask if you could spare a few pennies to sponsor me for this event, it does not have to be lots but every penny counts. thank you very much, Simon
CAUSE
Breast cancer
With almost 140 women diagnosed every day, breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. And, although rarer, around 350 men are also diagnosed with breast cancer every year. The good news is more than two-thirds of women now survive 20 years or more. Help Cancer Research UK find new ways to diagnose and treat the disease.
