My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m taking on the Walk 44 Miles Challenge this October to help raise money for the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK. You will probably know but I was diagnosed with bowel cancer in September 2023. I had radiotherapy to shrink the tumour, surgery to remove it, an ileostomy (stoma) while it healed, chemotherapy as they found some cancer cells in my lymph nodes and then further surgery, to reverse the stoma. It’s been hard at times but I’m so lucky compared to many people, so please help if you can.

CAUSE

Bowelbabe Fund

Fuelled by the spirit of rebellious hope - of choosing to remain hopeful in the face of overwhelming odds - the Bowelbabe Fund for Cancer Research UK was set up to continue the incredible legacy of Dame Deborah James. We raise money to fund cutting edge research into early detection and personalised medicine, raise awareness of signs and symptoms and tackle the stigmas around cancer with unflinching honesty so we can give more people affected by cancer more time with the people they love.
