My Story
Hello, friend, thanks for stopping by! This March I’m walking 10,000 steps every day throughout the month to help raise funds towards life-saving research. Join my journey by following my footsteps, sharing with others and making a donation if you can. My hope is you'd get inspired by this challenge and would also consider enjoying the wonders that walks can do for you. I personally find them great for reflection, recharging with energy and feeling closer to nature. Who is this lady? I am a Leamington-based artist, photographer and marketeer who strongly believes that helping others is a medicine for the soul and spreading positive energy a worthwhile mission. A smile a day, step by step, keep going. : ) Why walking and not running? When I was a teenager I developed a mental health issue. Running is one of the triggers that remind me of what I was feeling during this dark period and I find it both physically and emotionally painful. That's why I was so delighted to discover a challenge where I can help others by walking and this gives me hope and motivation. Why 'Walk all over cancer' cause? For over 7 years now I've been making a monthly donation to 'Marie Curie' cancer trust which provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness and their families. I feel gathering funds for Caner research is such a worthwhile cause as it works towards early identification and can ultimately prevent so many from having to experience the devastating consequences of losing a loved one. In addition, if my fundraiser succeeds in encouraging more people to take on walks, lead a healthier lifestyle and feel better about themselves, what more could I wish for? How tough would this challenge be? Well, like most people, on a usual day I do about half of that but I am determined to make a conscious effort to be hitting the target. I'd be sharing my progress, with ups and downs, photos from my daily adventures on here. Just to warn you some of the steps will be done in fluffy plush rabbit slippers, they are just as good as my walking boots (but don't try this outside home).
