My Story
Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 300 page. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 300 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page. This is a two fold challenge for me. I need knee replacement surgery but because of my weight I cant have it. The consultant suggested cycling to help lose weight and build fitness ready for surgery. So I started cycling about 8 weeks ago and have started to enjoy it and feel the benefit. So I thought why not help someone else with my effort and keep me motivated. I have seen first hand the effects of cancer as my son on law Thomas lost his father nearly 3 years ago after a brave battle with lung cancer and I've seen how this has affected the whole family. Other special people to me have lost the fight (uncle John, Shep, Becky) but also I have seen work friends fight the battle ( Pat and Angie) and friends still fighting (Carole, Charlotte and Uncle Ted.) There will be people you already know that battle, loved ones, friends, colleagues.....cancer has no boundaries and continues to take the lives of the unsuspecting. Please encourage me and donate to this worthy cause. THANK YOU. XX
