Shona takes on Dryathlon
This will be tough for me as people that are close to me will know. But 2020 is the year for big changes for me, lifestyle and health have to take a priority before I end up seriously ill. And what better way to start than to give up the drink (with support) after 15 years of depending on it, and raise money for cancer research at same time. That admission will Shock some people lol. Both my parents are in remission and I have also lost loved ones & family to cancer. It’s nearly the 1st Jan and My weeks of preparation & tapering down has been done & I am under Inclusion (IRIS) & GP for all the right support. I don’t care if my illness/addiction changes the way ppl see me or they now think less of me, if they didn’t know about it, I hid it well for 15 years for those who didn’t know. I hope it raises awareness that none of us are infallible & If my challenge to tackle this addiction/illness prompts others to do the same then it’s worth it. Be proud of who you are. We are all worth it. We are all only human. Bring on the 1st 🚫🍺🚫💪 I promise to do my part as best I can. 🤞🏼💪 Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This January, I’m taking on Dryathlon and going booze-free for one month to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Every penny makes a huge difference to vital cancer research so please show your support with a donation to my page.
