Cancer changed my life; gave me the strength to face adversity with courage and never give up hope.
Dear all, I am running the ‘Race for life’ for Cancer Research UK again this year. I have now completed nearly 6 years of cancer free survival. I feel extremely fortunate that I could receive the best treatment available, which is a result of excellent, high quality research funded largely by Cancer Research UK. Lets not forget, cancer incidence rates have gone up by almost 12% in the UK since the early 1990s. However, because of the advances in research, cancer related death rates have fallen leading to better survival. Cancer patients across the whole world are benefitting from research coming out from the West. Whilst I have my personal story of my fight against cancer, I also know friends, relatives and families who have their stories too and for all those having to go through it, I say –NEVER GIVE UP HOPE! This year, my friend Rum will do the race with me…she has been a big support to me all through my treatment days and she is joining me in support for the cause. Please, please donate … Thank you very much indeed for your generosity.

Cancer survival rates have doubled over the past 40 years. Consistent progress is being made but improvements to technology and ground-breaking work offer new opportunities to find different ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer and improve survival rates even further.
