Sheryl's Cycle 200 Giving Page

Thank you for visiting my Cancer Research UK Cycle 200 page. As you already know this past couple of years have been extremely challenging as I battled with breast cancer. My family and friends battled with me every step of the way and without them I honestly don’t think I could have got through this. My husband has been literally incredible and has got me through some of the hardest challenges I think we will ever face. We witnessed the sheer volume of patients which hear the crushing words which were said to my husband and I “I’m so sorry but you have cancer.” It hadn’t been in my family history at all and as the advert says, cancer doesn’t care who you are, what age, what plans you’ve made. Your world falls apart as does those around you. With the help of incredible nurses, doctors, radiographers and amazing friends with first hand experience I became one of the lucky ones. The effects of treatment continue long after the joy of ringing that bell but for the first time I now feel in the right position to start giving something back. As many of you know I have regarded myself as allergic to physical exercise for quite a while 🤣🤣 but not now. I have been extremely lucky to have been given a second chance and I’m not about to waste it. I’ve started losing my steroid weight and now it’s time for a challenge and it will be a challenge, I think there will be times when my body says “Really?” but it’s not like I haven’t battled on before. This September, before the end of the month, I will complete 200 miles on my bike for Cancer Research UK. I will be pedalling harder than ever because I want to raise money for life-saving research and help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
