In memory of

I lost my mother to cancer over 40 years ago.

My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I’m taking on the Run 66 Miles Challenge for the Bobby Moore Fund to help raise money for Cancer Research UK. Why am I doing this? I lost my mother to cancer over 40 years ago. She didn’t make it to 50 but was grateful for the radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatments she received in London and abroad. I’m sure the work carried out by CRUK was crucial to giving her many additional years which she tried to enjoy to the full. I’m privileged to be able to take part in this fund raising event - should be quite a challenge for me as I had three knee replacements in 2020 and 2021 and haven’t run more than 100m at a time! Please show your support and help fund life-saving bowel cancer research by donating to my page.

CAUSE

Bobby Moore Fund

Bobby Moore was just 51 years old when he died. Shortly after his death in 1993, Bobby’s widow Stephanie Moore OBE set up the Bobby Moore Fund to raise money for pioneering bowel cancer research. Since the fund was set up , bowel cancer mortality rates have fallen by over 30%. However, with 48 people losing their life to the disease every day in the UK, we still have a long way to go.
