My Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. This March I’m walking 10,000 steps a day throughout the month to help beat cancer sooner. Help me Walk All Over Cancer and fund life-saving research by sponsoring me. Donating through this page is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Cancer Research UK. Update time, folks................. Week 1: a slow start due to FitBit issues, injury and illness but achieved 66,126 steps, requiring a catch up of 3,874. Not too bad, therefore :-). Week 2: again, a challenging week for a whole host of reasons but achieved 65,539 steps, taking me to a deficit of 4,461 overall. Time to pick the stepping up a notch or two methinks.... :-(. Week 3: I'm going strong already and am ahead of this week's target .......watch this space, folks!!! Second and last update................. Week 3 (continued): a cracking week with a total of 74,949 - which means I have caught up AND gone in front!!!! Whoop to me!!!! Week 4: more FitBit issues this week which is not good timing at all :-( . Anyway, I get it to 72,122 which keeps me near enough this time. Week 5: Last three day push sees me rack up 32,112 despite illness and tiredness :-(. But have i managed to reach my total??????? 31 days at 10,000 steps per day was much harder than I imagined. With the help of my little stepping machine, lots of walks on the treadmill, ice n deep tissue massages I have done an incredible 310,848 steps. Wow...I think I deserve a month doing nothing now, given my ankles, shins and knees have fallen out with me.......... Thank you to all my generous and thoughtful sponsors - love ya all, but next time it's just a 5K Race For Life 'cos this was really hard I have to say. But target well and truly exceeded as I have another £15 and gift aid to add yet. Thanks again xx
